About
Dr. Urvashi Patel is the Vice President of data and analytics and is responsible for Evernorth product and market analytics, data science and research.
Dr. Patel has over 20 years of experience in data analytics, and her career has focused on the evaluation of clinical programs and services, including condition management, complex case management, quality improvement, and provider performance programs. As a health services researcher, she has led studies evaluating the impact of programs in disease areas such as diabetes, heart failure, ESRD, asthma, COPD, and behavioral health using a broad set of methodological techniques.
In addition, Dr. Patel has extensive health plan and health system experience – most recently serving as the Chief Analytics Officer at Brighton Health Plan Solutions (BHPS) with responsibility for actuarial and analytical functions. Prior to joining BHPS, she was the Associate Vice President and Chief Data Scientist for the Care Management Division of Montefiore Health System overseeing data management and governance, business intelligence, and data science and research for value-based care contracts and programs. Dr. Patel also held leadership positions at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and Care Management Technologies.
Dr. Patel earned her doctorate in Health Services Organization & Research from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and a Master of Public Health with a focus in Health Administration from the State University of New York at Albany School of Public Health, where she also earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. She is an Assistant Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Department of Family and Social Medicine.
