Katie joined Express Scripts in 2007 as a member of the Office of Clinical Evaluation and Policy, responsible for developing clinical evaluations for new therapies, utilization management clinical policies, and presenting at various evaluation and approval committees. Recognizing a desire to be client facing and learn more of the business aspects of the organization, Katie then took a position as a clinical account executive serving health plans. In this position, she provided clinical, formulary, and trend management support for commercial, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid lines of business. In 2019, she was promoted to lead a team in Supply Chain, where she is focused on creating utilization management strategies that improve access to effective therapy, while working to ensure sustainable healthcare. She was recently promoted to senior director, Formulary Solutions. In this role, Katie and her team provide strategic development and management of one of the nation’s most utilized formularies, the National Preferred Formulary.
