About
Pooja Bhardwaja is a Senior Medical Director with Evernorth Care group, a direct patient care delivery business unit of Cigna. In her current role, Pooja leads primary care, urgent care and specialty departments and is responsible for improving clinical quality outcomes, access to care and patient experience by decreasing variability in rendered care and optimizing workflow efficiencies that decrease total medical cost and improve health outcomes.
Pooja is a board certified internal medicine physician and has been with Evernorth Care Group for 10 years. In current role she is accountable for total medical cost and responsible for delivering on quality targets for value based contracts. She also provides management support for clinicians to ensure they are supported and engaged to deliver on the quality outcomes. She has a passion for improving clinical quality outcomes by decreasing variability in rendered care and optimizing workflow efficiencies that decrease total medical cost and improve health outcomes. She received her medical degree from MGM Medical College India and completed her residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical center in Phoenix, AZ. She has also earned her MBA with health care emphasis from W. P. Carey School of Business from Arizona State University.
Dr. Bhardwaja has completed Physician Leadership development program and Emerging Leader Talent Pool leadership programs with Cigna. She is also fellow of American college of Physicians and sits on the board of governor for ACP-AZ Chapter.
