Evernorth Health Services has announced the January 1 launch of Evernorth Federal Services, a wholly owned subsidiary designed to better align health services and solutions that improve outcomes for patients covered by federal clients. Services and capabilities will include pharmacy benefits, specialty pharmacy, telehealth, medical utilization management, and behavioral health services, among others from across the Evernorth portfolio.
Evernorth’s Express Scripts PBM has a long history serving federal clients, including millions of active-duty service members, their families, and retirees.
“Evernorth Federal Services will accelerate the delivery of innovative and flexible solutions to meet the unique needs within government programs,” said Tom Jenkins, president of Evernorth Federal Services. “When we partner across Evernorth, it creates value for our clients by making treatment, prediction and prevention easier and more accessible. This new entity enables us to bring this connectivity across health care services to the federal sector.”
Organizations within Evernorth, such as Express Scripts and Accredo, already have the privilege of serving more than 9 million active-duty service members, their families, and military retirees.
“I am proud to share this news today – Veterans Day – because the creation of Evernorth Federal Services positions us to partner with clients in an effort to make our best-in-class offering available to populations we’re privileged to serve, like veterans,” Jenkins said.
Among employees, The Cigna Group’s Salute Enterprise Resource Group (ERG) is committed to providing resources, opportunities, and robust programing to help ERG members and the broader military community flourish and to ensure their unique value and skills are recognized and leveraged.
“We have a strong force of veterans within Evernorth, each bringing a unique and powerful blend of experience and skills. We could not do this without the expertise and experience our military and veteran employees bring to this important work.”
